In this nineteenth-century canvas, resolved in a language ascribed to Romanticism, flowers and fruits have been represented at their moment of maximum splendor. With this, the painter emphasizes the fugitive essence of beauty and freshness. The lampshades are worked with juicy brushstrokes with which the author extracts the right qualities and glazes. Intense hallmarks of light model each piece of fruit, some of them split and showing the inner pulp. Some apples are even chopped, announcing their approaching expiration date.
