Table clock of sculptural conception that presents a gilded bronze base where the clock case is located with Roman numerals in cobalt blue and gilded openwork hands. The piece ends with a sculptural group starring a couple dressed in the classical manner. In the case of the young man we can see that on his head he wears the laurel crown, and his facial features are very reminiscent of the sculptures of Caesar, so it is likely that it is a representation of him with his wife.

Nineteenth century bronze table clocks were key pieces in interior decoration and design, as well as symbols of social status and refinement. Elaborately crafted and often adorned with artistic motifs, these clocks not only served to measure time, but also reflected the technical advances and taste for fine craftsmanship of the time. Bronze, a durable and aesthetically appreciated material, allowed the creation of complex and elegant forms, integrating styles such as neoclassical or rococo.
