The Andalusian painter Antonio Calvo Carrión travels from a very young age, constantly motivated by the search for a new way in the field of painting. His restlessness leads him to travel to different cities such as Madrid, Seville or Paris and he establishes his residence in Mallorca in 1952, year in which he wins the III Certamen de Primavera promoted by the Ajuntament de Palma, a residence that alternates with stays abroad, especially in Venezuela and Nicaragua. Throughout his life, he developed the genres of portrait, still life and landscape, achieving great recognition among the society and critics of the time and was awarded the gold medal as the Spanish representative of the Biennial of Alexandria (1955). The Es Baluard Museum in Palma dedicated an anthology to him.
