Born in San Sebastian, Antonio García Morales moved to Barcelona at an early age with his family. There he began his artistic studies, first at the Baixas Academy and later at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, which granted him a scholarship in 1936 for a training trip to Spain. In 1933 he presented in the "Salón del Desnudo", organized by the Círculo Artístico, a work that was acquired by the Junta de Museos, destined for the Museo de Arte Moderno. He made his individual debut in 1936, in the Sala Parés in Barcelona, and in 1945 he participated for the first time in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid, where he was awarded a third medal for his canvas entitled "Pudor". In 1951, he takes part in the National Exhibition of Barcelona, and this time he obtains a second medal. That same year he obtained the First Prize in the San Jorge Competition organized by the Diputación de Barcelona. He participated in the I Bienal Hispanoamericana de Arte, in the Exposición de Arte Español Contemporáneo (1947) and, again in the Nacional de Bellas Artes, in 1960.
