Floor lamp in carved wood that stands out for the delicacy of its shaft, made in the form of an inverted truncated pyramidal column of vegetal nature, in whose upper third rises a sphere that supports the structure of the lampshade.

Alban Chambon was a French architect and decorator. His family, of Italian origin, settled in Burgundy, but later moved to Paris. At the age of fifteen, he began to receive practical training in ornamentation firms and, at the same time, attended drawing classes in order to perfect his skills as a draughtsman.

In 1868 he decided to move to Brussels, possibly motivated by the presence of his compatriot Georges Houtstont, who had founded a workshop of decoration and ornamental sculpture there. There he opened his own workshop, specializing in decoration and sculpture.
