Carved, stuccoed and polychrome wood.
Measurements. 312 x 170 x 56 cm.
Great neo-Mudejar arch made of polychrome wood belonging to the Neo-Mudejar style. The Neomudejar is an architectural style that emerged in Spain in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century as part of the historicist trend that recovered elements of the architectural past of the country. It is inspired by Mudejar art, a style characteristic of the Iberian Peninsula that combined Islamic influences with Christian tradition and developed between the 12th and 16th centuries. Neo-Mudejar was widely used in train stations, markets, bullrings and homes, leaving an important mark on Spanish architecture. With the passing of time, its use decreased with the arrival of the 20th century avant-garde, but it is still a representative style of the architectural eclecticism of the time.
