Laurence Marie Charlotte Hayman was the daughter of engineer François Bernard Marie Hayman and Julie Augustine Clairet, with an artistic ancestry that connected her to the famous painter Francis Hayman. Attracted by the glitz and luxury of Parisian high society, Laure became a leading figure in the salons and parties of the time. Her beauty, intelligence and charm made her one of the most sought-after courtesans. Among her many admirers were illustrious personages such as the Duke of Orleans, Charles de La Rochefoucauld and even the King of Greece. Her own salon became an oasis of sophistication in the heart of Paris. Among the regulars at her gatherings were figures such as Marcel Proust, Paul Bourget and Jacques-Émile Blanche, attracted by the charisma of their hostess and the stimulating atmosphere of their meetings. LaureHayman was not only an exceptional hostess, but also a talented sculptor. Her interest in forms and volumes led her to explore different techniques and themes; initially captivated by the beauty of the human face, she devoted herself to creating busts, capturing the essence of her models with great sensitivity. Later, she was seduced by the exoticism of the Orient, incorporating orientalist elements into her works. His talent was quickly recognized. In 1905, she exhibited at the prestigious Salon d'Automne in Paris, an event that catapulted her to fame. Years later, in 1913, she held a solo exhibition at the prestigious Georges Petit gallery, consolidating her position in the Parisian art scene.
