Jiménez Mariscal is the name of a Granada house of artisans whose beginnings date back to 1873, at the hands of the barrista Antonio Jiménez Rada. He opened a workshop in Granada and later moved to Seville. His Triana workshop grew, producing numerous nativity figures and traditional clays of romantic taste. At the beginning of the 1930s, coinciding with the rise of the Republic, Rada left Seville and returned to his hometown. He resumes his work on Gracia Street, with countless religious and popular figures appearing again. Part of his work can be seen in the Casa de los Tiros Museum in Granada, the Romantic Museum in Madrid, Popular Arts in Malaga, Descalzas Reales in Madrid, the Sagnier Collection in Gerona and numerous private collections both nationally and internationally. The teacher's work was continued by his children José and Josefa, born in Seville. The barrista workshop continues today with the same techniques that they used in the beginning, they apply oil paints on the figures and egg or oil dyes.
