Graham Bannister began his painting career at the Brilling Art Centre in Bath in the 1970s, and his style was then characterized by the influence of the "Brotherhood of Ruralist" (Pre-Raphaelites, with a preference for rural life). He is also well known for his work with the technique of digigraphy, a form of photographic printing that allows watercolors on paper leaving blank parts, on which he can paint. After exhibiting his work in several important galleries in London, he moved to Tuscany, later moving to France. His paintings have been exhibited in Europe, China, Japan and the United States.
