The Luba Kalundwe are a Western Luba group that shares common traits with the Kanyok and the Luba Shankadi. Most of the kalundwe art was carved for the most important ranks of the community. Sometimes there are carved sculptures of a woman holding a cup. This classical-style kalundwe female figure probably had arms extending before her chest, which would hold a cup. She was seated on a disk-shaped base that has eroded over time.
