DESCRIPTION

Pocket watch by Swiss master watchmaker Paul Jeannot. Geneva, ca. 1900.
18k yellow gold. This remontoir watch with three covers, which has its case entirely made of solid gold, is a real gem. The front cover is engraved with a guilloché finish and has a coat of arms in the center. The dial is pearl enamel with Roman numerals, second hand at 6 o'clock and pear-shaped hands, is decorated with applications of plant forms and golden borders. On the inside of the front cover appears the 18K stamp. On the inside of the back cover appears the watchmaker's signature, the city of manufacture Genève, the serial number 66900 and the legend "Encre 15 rubis". Interior movement signed and with serial number. Manual winding movement. It works.
Measurements: 45 mm (diameter); 70 mm (height).

Paul Jeannot was part of a family of Swiss watchmakers with workshops located in La Chaux-de-Fonds since 1880 and active during the turn of the century. He registered several patents and trademarks; some of his advances brought greater reliability to the machines he manufactured. He partnered with Paul Perret to manufacture chronographs in the years before and after the turn of the century. The PAUL JEANNOT Company registered its name for the first time in 1880 in the city of Geneva, as a brand of pocket watches. In 1888 the same company obtained the patent to market its watches in the United States. It will be from the year 1892 that all their watches are registered in La Chaux-de Fond, Switzerland.

In the description of the watches, when it says "in working order" it means that the watch is in operation. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and that is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
