This French table clock exquisitely combines painted porcelain and gilded bronze, creating a refined and detailed piece typical of French high decorative craftsmanship. The structure of the clock is formed by a rectangular case in gilded bronze, with glass panels on the sides and front, allowing the internal components of the clock to be seen.
The dial, surrounded by a decorative bronze border, has Roman numerals in black on a white background, with floral details painted in pastel shades surrounding the center. The lower part of the dial features a pendulum, also decorated with a painted scene that appears to depict a cherub, adding a romantic touch to the piece.
On either side of the clock, two bronze columns are decorated with painted porcelain cylinders depicting figures in pastoral scenes: a woman and a man in 18th century garb, each framed by floral designs in shades of gold and pastels. These columns add symmetry and elegance to the structure.
At the top, the clock is topped with a decorative vase in porcelain and bronze, incorporating handles and a refined design, in keeping with the neoclassical style.

Twentieth century bronze table clocks were key pieces in interior decoration and design, as well as symbols of social status and refinement. Elaborately crafted and often adorned with artistic motifs, these clocks not only served to measure time, but also reflected the technical advances and taste for fine craftsmanship of the era. Bronze, a durable and aesthetically appreciated material, allowed the creation of complex and elegant forms, integrating styles such as neoclassical or rococo, which made them highly valued objects in the residences of high society.
