BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

OMEGA De Ville "Emerald" by Andrew Grima ladies' watch.
Mesh case and bracelet in 18k yellow gold. Hidden buckle. Champagne colored octagonal dial. With applied dot numerals. Black baton hands. Fluted crown topped by blue stone cabochon. Manual movement.
Weight: 46,18 g.
Measurements: 26 x 20 mm (case diameter without crown).

Andrew Grima was the most influential jewelry designer of the post-war period. He changed the way people perceived jewelry not only in Britain but throughout the world and is therefore considered the father of modern jewelry. Completely self-taught, he joined his father-in-law's jewelry manufacturing business, HJ Company, in 1946 and immediately began innovating with new techniques and shifting the emphasis from figurative to organic and abstract designs. His Emerald line is distinguished by its sinuous proportions, and the highly original quartz design. This model was produced only until 1973.

In the description of the watches when it is marked "in working order" it means that the watch is in operation. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and that is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
