BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Empire style table clock; France, first half of the nineteenth century.
Alabaster and bronze.
Preserves pendulum and no key.
Measurements: 48 x 25,5 x 17 cm.
Empire table clock, made of carved alabaster with gilded bronze applications. It consists of a prismatic base with sharp edges, typically Empire, raised on four legs in the shape of a chamfered ball. On this base rises the body of the clock, also prismatic, although finished in semicircular arch, where the dial is housed. This is circular combining bronze with a white finish where the Roman numerals are arranged in black and openwork hands type breguet. Under the dial there is a relief inspired by classical antiquity.

COMMENTS

It keeps pendulum and does not keep key.
