This table clock in biscuit closely follows models made by Charles Percier in collaboration with Pierre François Léonard Fontaine, who in the eighteenth century left an impression on the aristocratic tastes in terms of interior design. The clock we show, made by Karl Ens, has a trapezoidal body in the center of which the dial has double numeration, Arabic and Roman. Bas-reliefs of female figures inspired by the friezes of Ancient Greece run along the front. The god Apollo crosses the sky with his solar chariot. Floral festoons complete the decoration.

Karl Ens was a renowned German potter known for his porcelain creations. Ens developed his passion for ceramics at a young age, honing his skills under the tutelage of his father, Eduard Ens, who was also a respected potter. In 1890, Karl Ens took over his father's porcelain factory in Volkstedt and began expanding the business. Under his leadership, the company flourished.
