Napoleon III clock. France, ca. 1850.
Gilt and silvered bronze, marble and enamel.
Dial E. Vittoz à Paris (with stamp on the machinery).

Measurements: 51 x 14 x 14 x 14 cm.
Napoleon III clock raised on a molded base in white marble and gilded bronze, on which rests an allegory to the Arts and Sciences made in silvered bronze. This allegory takes the form of four young robed girls with fine facial features. The piece is crowned by the black clock face with Roman numerals and the hands, which take the form of a snake, highlighted in gold.
