This Limited Edition fountain pen is the first limited edition of Classic Pens (CP), in the CP1 series. It was the result of a collaboration between Classic Pens, Sheaffer and Murelli. The CP1 series was launched in 1990 and consisted of a limited edition of 250 pens. Because of this, CP1 pens are very exclusive, rare and desirable. The CP1 Targa model is completely covered in sterling silver. It was offered in a unique worldwide edition of 250 pieces with a Classic Pens exclusive "Vannerie" (weaving) pattern for the Targa in sterling silver. The pens are laser engraved on the cap trim with the CP1 logo and individual limited edition number. The cap ring is engraved with the manufacturer's name, Sheaffer, and the pens bear the sterling silver London Assay Office mark.

It features a converter filling system. Sheaffer ink cartridges can also be used. The CP1 series is official and comes with Sheaffer's lifetime warranty and after-sales service. This pen comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Andreas Lambrou.

The nib is marked 14K Sheaffer 585 and has an average tip of 0.80 mm, measured with digital calipers. This 14K/585 nib shows no signs of having been inked.
