One of the fountain pens has a hand-painted portrait of the Dragon on its barrel, while the other features an elegant image of the Phoenix. Artist Lorena Straffi, known for her work in airbrushing, has hand-painted the detailed portraits of the mythological creatures on the DRACO ET PHOENIX pens. Straffi has taken her art to extreme levels of precision, working within millimeters of the surface to achieve a perfect painting.

The tips of the TIBALDI pens are made of solid 18-karat gold, engraved with the "1ª Qualità" certification. The thickness of the gold varies along the tip to offer flexibility and comfort in writing, to adapt to different writing styles.
