Saint Michael has been a source of inspiration for numerous painters, and his figure is usually represented with wings and a drawn sword. He is shown young and strong, clad in imposing armor, often in combat with a dragon or trampling the defeated Satan. It is this image, which captures the essence of the archangel, that adorns the pen designed in his honor by Tibaldi.

Tibaldi's inspiration comes from the iconic and magnificent work of a Palekh master, influenced by the Russian modernist style. Adapted for the pen by Tibaldi's talented artist, Lorena Straffi, the image of St. Michael is presented on a gold background with a texture that simulates a mosaic. Hand-painted by Straffi, St. Michael is seen trampling a demon, depicted as a young man reclining on the daffodil-covered ground. In his right hand, St. Michael holds a cross, a spear and a criterion; in his left, he carries the sword, which rests in its decorated scabbard.

Tibaldi's designers have rendered this image on the barrel of the pen, creating the details in relief. The Archangel's wings, body and armor are reproduced in precious metal, hand-engraved and punctured to reveal the colors of a classic icon through the openings. The image is also engraved on the 18k solid gold tip, partially rhodium plated, with the angel's wings and armor highlighted in 18k yellow gold.
