Visconti released the limited edition Pontevecchio in 1995 to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the Pontevecchio Bridge in Florence, one of the most famous bridges in the world.

The colors chosen for the three pens symbolize the different stones used to build the bridge: Adriatic stone (light gray/azurite with black veins), granite (a mix of burgundy and gray tones), Pompeii (deep cobalt blue and orange).

The Pontevecchio bridge outline is engraved on the cap band, while the serial number is placed on the large band at the top of the cap.

Visconti pens have been manufactured in Italy since 1988. The workshops are located in a 15th century villa in rural Florence. The director of the Florentine company, Dante Del Vecchio, is guided by his personal passion for historic fountain pens and his relentless search for new expressions in the art of writing instruments.

Each pen tells a story, of art, archaeology, philosophy, mathematics, literature, ancient and contemporary history. Visconti pens are no longer a simple writing instrument, but can become canvases on which new artistic expressions are painted and deep emotions are communicated.
