Weight: 7568 g.
Lot consists of eight pieces of dressing table made all of them in silver. The pieces stand out for their sobriety since they have few ornamental elements. These are based on vegetal motifs of fluid and warped forms.
Toilet articles made in silver in the 20th century represent not only a symbol of elegance and luxury, but also a reflection of the social and cultural trends of the time. During this period, especially in the 1920s and 1930s, the design of these pieces reached a significant boom, driven by Art Deco and other artistic movements that valued aesthetics and craftsmanship. Silver, with its luster and malleability, allowed artisans to create sophisticated objects such as mirrors, brushes, perfume bottles and trays, which were not only functional, but also works of art. These pieces not only adorned the boudoirs of elite homes, but also represented social status and a connection to the modern lifestyle that sought emancipation and individuality. Moreover, in a historical context marked by the transformation of gender roles, vanity pieces reflected the growing autonomy of women. At a time when personal aesthetics and appearance care took on new importance, these objects became elements of self-expression and empowerment.
