Two small jars of jam or compote. Catalonia and England, XIX century.
Silver.
With hallmarks on the two pieces (in the Catalan by Alfons Serrahima).
One of them retains the spoon.
Presents marks of use and wear.
Measurements: 6 x 4,5 x 4,5 cm.

Pair of jars with lid for jam or compote entirely made in silver. One of them has a cylindrical shape while the other one has a convex belly. Fine incisions or simple moldings embellish the containers, providing a line of modernity in which the delicate taste, far from eccentricities, predominates.

Alfons Serrahima was a Catalan jeweler and goldsmith active from the 1930s until the end of the 20th century. His training was mainly centered in the workshop of Antoni Urpí in Sarrià (the neighborhood where he grew up), a leading figure in the exhibitions of 1898 and 1907. Later he continued his apprenticeship at the Círculo Artístico de Sant Lluc where he perfected his drawing technique.
