Isadora Willson Gazmuri studied Visual Arts at the University of Chile, later graduating in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (2007). She studied Photography at the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya. His pictorial work and his actions in public space "are based on the interaction of the subject with the environment, understanding that the identity of the individual and the relationships he builds with others are influenced by the space in which we live and the characteristics of the places in which we live. I am interested in the perception of space, the possibility of a new understanding of it and the representation of the different links we establish with the place". He has held solo exhibitions at C.C. Santa Eugénia, Girona (2011), Casa Elizalde in Barcelona (2010), Sala RAI in Barcelona (2009), among others. He has participated in group exhibitions at the Olimpia Gallery in Barcelona (2013), Balmaceda Arte Joven Gallery. Santiago de Chile (2012), Centro Cultural Universidad de Antioquia. Medellín (2012), Poble Espanyol Barcelona (2011), Amber Art Gallery (2011), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago de Chile, among others. Selected for the Call Sala d'Art Jove 2013. Atlas Project. Barcelona; National Fund for Cultural Development and the Arts. Regional exchange support. Chile (2012); workshop in DOCUMENTA13 Kassel (2012); Finalist Bancaja Painting Prize 2011; Honorable Mention International Painting Prize Miquel Viladrich 2011; Grant Fundació Ramón Llull 2012 for exhibition in Medellin, among other awards and recognitions. Faithful to her inquiries about the memory linked to a place, about the visual translation of residual images, of cognitive impressions..., in "Bushwick nights" Isadora Willson shows the result of her nightly rounds through New York corners that exhale an untamed aura that will soon be eclipsed by the advance of gentrification. These paintings are a kind of farewell to the calmness that still pervades some of the streets of Brooklyn, where the lighting amber tints the concrete and iron of the abandoned stations, so that they acquire the sepia tone of a vintage photograph.
