Prolific and versatile artist, in this painting from 2010 the author dabbles in a colorful and dynamic abstraction under whose dense multicolored tracery seem to draw elusive figurative forms that question our perception. From there derives the title, as if referring that under the horror vacui hides another reality. Likewise, this particular painting is rooted in those experiments that the artist tells in some interviews, about the fact that at the age of eleven he already started in the world of graffiti with a personal style of drawing with continuous lines without lifting the tool.
Painting in movement, understood as gesture and trace of the body, is the essence of SUSO33's work. An international figure of graffiti, he has been experimenting for three decades with action painting, muralism, performance, installation and video art, ephemeral environments, in the street or in nature, paying homage to the memory of spaces and their inhabitants. Light is the protagonist, either outdoors (valuing natural conditions) or on stage, using new technologies. Far from theoretical speculations, his work "crosses the body". Critical of the dehumanization of society, his latest works delve into the spiritual path.
Suso33 is considered one of the referents of graffiti, urban art and muralism in the Spanish context. Pioneer of iconographic graffiti and experimentation with language in this discipline, he is also a precursor of Post-Graffiti, Street-Art and Urban-Art and the greatest exponent of livepainting in Spain. His work was influenced by hip hop and urban culture of the time. Throughout his career, Suso33 has experimented with various techniques and styles, including painting, collage, installation, video art, performance and scenography. His work is characterized by strong symbolism, vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. His style has gone through different stages and styles. In some paintings, he has explored themes such as identity and alienation by depicting human figures, in others, he delves into abstraction. The city is another recurring theme in his work, reflecting his interest in urban culture and contemporary life. In recent years, Suso33 has incorporated elements of nature into his work, as a way of reflecting on the relationship between man and the environment. Suso33 has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Tate Modern in London. He has participated in numerous urban art festivals and has collaborated with internationally renowned artists.
