Cristina Fontsaré works mainly in the field of photography, although her beginnings were as a sculptor. She studied Fine Arts, Art History and Landscape Architecture in Barcelona. Her first solo exhibition of photography was in 2005 at the Espiral Gallery in Olite. Previously she made sculptures for public space: for example, Loop o2, Rio Grande Park in Oyon. His most recent solo exhibition was held at the DA2 in Salamanca, which in 2013 will travel to the College of Spain in Paris. He has received important awards. To cite only those of recent years: Bilbao Art Scholarship 2012, Biennial of Girona'10; Unicaja '08; Art Salamanca 07, and Epson de Fotografía 2006. Among his latest solo exhibitions we highlight: "Protect me". DA2 (Domus Artium) of Salamanca, 2012; "No te prometo un mundo maravilloso". EspaiZero1, Garrotxa Museum, Olot, 2011; Chinese landscapes in the Pyrenees, Benito Esteban Gallery, Salamanca, 2010. Of the collective exhibitions, we mention those held at Daniel Cooney Fine Art, New York, 2012; Just MAD'12, represented by Casa Falconieri; Ten years of Spanish Contemporary Photography. Instituto Cervantes (itinerant, 2011). She is represented in the following collections: Fundación Caja Vital Kutxa, Vitoria ; Museo de Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real; Mua, Alicante; Cabildo de Gran Canarias; Fundación Bancaja, Valencia; Fundación Unicaja, Málaga; Fundación Arena, Barcelona; DA2, Domus Artium, Salamanca; Ayuntamiento de Albacete; Diputació De Girona; Colección Epson; Bilbao Arte. Through her photographic work Cristina Fontsaré has privileged reflections on the impact of globalization, and the paradoxical relationships established between the natural and the urban environment. In early series such as "Beach party" or "Sunflowers", she laconically shows the ruins of the tourist chaos on the Catalan coast, and compares with mockery the infectious sowing of the beaches with rows of sun-thirsty camping tents with the sunflower fields worshiping the same star. The experiential and the distanced analysis of a certain reality tend to coexist in his photographic series. Over time he has experimented with different aesthetics, showing his ability to master the photographic language, adapting it to the message.
