In the words of Joan Lluís Montané belonging to the International Association of Art Critics, "Agustín Espina, is a subtle, special, clearly sensitive creator, who bets on the poetic truth in all orders. As a plastic artist, sculptor-painter, painter and draftsman, he is material, gestural, symbolist, master of techniques, in love with matter, in order to transcend it. He is a navigator in search of hidden symbols within a natural approach. Austere, he is passionately devoted, being singularly a being that goes beyond the experiential anecdote, to enter into the poetic plastic knowledge of the gear of the subconscious, investigating the depths of the intellectual attitude, being, at the same time, a born experimenter, because in the search is freedom".
Statement: I am an artist who has evolved from the abstract material (wood carvings) to the emotional interpretative figurative type. My relationship with concept art, digital art, augmented reality, virtual reality, design or illustration has deeply marked my ultimate perception of Art. Drawing, as a spontaneous synthesis of a poetic reality, lived from all concepts, seeks to fill my work with a joyful sense, an eternal youth and a freshness of conception that freely projects all my fantasy and imagination. From this perspective the technique, using itself, becomes totally original.
