Although little is known about Alphonse Jouatte, we know that he was a genre painter trained and active in France during the 19th century. In this panel the absolute protagonist is a character dressed in regional costumes who pours wine in a determined attitude. It is a work derived from naturalism, worked in reduced chromatisms, around earthy, ochre and crimson colors.
