This work reproduces a painting by the German artist Elmar Von Eschwege, known for his paintings depicting war events. These include images with equestrian and battle scenes from the Wars of Liberation of 1813, as well as the Braunschweig Ducal Hussars Regiment No. 17 and the Braunschweig Ducal Infantry Regiment No. 92, which fought in the Franco-Prussian War in the years 1870 to 1871, or the Braunschweig Reserve Infantry Regiment, Regiment No. 208, which was in service during the First World War.
