From 1952 to 1954, Erró studied at the art academy in Reykjavik and Oslo. After his studies he traveled to Florence, where among other things he devoted himself until 1958 to explore the artistic technique of mosaic. In 1958 he moved to Paris and participated there in 1960 in the exhibition Antiproces with some of his works. From 1961 until 1966 he participated annually in the Parisian exhibition Salon de Mai. This was followed by numerous trips and exhibitions in other countries, for example, he exhibited in 1969 at the Karlsruhe Art Association (Kunst und Politik Art and Politics). He also shot several films, among them Grimaces (1964). In his paintings the painter shows a style that oscillates between surrealism and Pop Art. The modern world, with its technique and its inhumanity appeared repeatedly in the subject matter of his works. He also integrates elements of comics and science fiction. In 2010 he was awarded the French decoration Legion of Honor (Chevalier).
