Known by the pseudonyms "Ops" and "El Roto", Andrés Rábago is a self-taught cartoonist and graphic humorist. He began in 1986 to publish cartoons and illustrations in magazines such as "Hermano Lobo". He then continued to collaborate in numerous print media, including "La Estafeta Literaria", "La Codorniz", "Triunfo", "Cuadernos para el Diálogo", "El Independiente" and "Ajoblanco". He also made a short cartoon film, entitled "La edad del silencio", and in 1971 a compilation album of his illustrations was published. In 1978 he began his collaboration with the magazines of the incipient boom of adult comics, first with "Totem" and later with "El Jueves", "El Cuervo" and "Madriz". He also continues to publish in the press: "Diario 16", "Cambio 16", "Tiempo", "El periódico de Catalunya", "Informaciones", "Pueblo", "La hoja del lunes", etc. He currently publishes in "El País". In recent years he has been awarded the Diario de Avisos Award for best humor comic script (2011) and the National Illustration Award (2012). He has also tackled painting and scenography.
