Camera lucida manufactured by the French firm G. Imbert, in chromed metal. With its lenses.
The camera lucida is an optical device patented by William H. Wollaston in 1806, most probably based on the design invented by Johannes Kepler two centuries earlier. These devices are used to superimpose an image of the object to be reproduced on the surface on which you want to draw. Thanks to the camera lucida, the user can see the surface and the object at the same time.
