Two cases of technical drawing instruments and compasses made of steel, with bone details. The cases, in different sizes, have a wooden core and are lined with imitation leather. One of the lids bears the prestigious E.O. Richter trademark. The interiors are lined with velvet. They include compasses of various types, adapters, line strips and technical nibs. All instruments fit in their specific housing. The cases retain all their parts, in functional condition. Cases with wear and tear typical of use and of the period. The damage does not affect the condition of the instruments.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the development of precision mechanics and the Industrial Revolution gave rise to manufactures such as E.O. Richter & Co. founded in Saxony, Germany. At the beginning of the 20th century, this company became one of the most important in the world in the manufacture of compasses and technical drawing tools, standing out for its innovation, such as the development of the eccentric whisker.
