During the first half of the last century, the scale models that were exhibited in Citroen dealerships, were products of the house that were given to the children of customers. André Citroën, a man of innovative spirit, saw in the miniature replicas the opportunity to create some potential customers in the next generation. He created the toy division of the company and named it after himself: Jouets (toys) André Citroën. So when someone bought a Citroën car, they could take two. One for the whole family, and one exclusively for the little ones in the house. Both genuine, manufactured by the same company, with the same quality, without intermediaries. The replicas were of very good quality and were very successful, so much so that after a few years, at the request of the public and the dealers themselves, the André Citroën toys were no longer exclusive to the dealerships, but were also offered in toy stores.
