The fragment in bidding could correspond to the lower part of a large altarpiece. This is suggested by its markedly horizontal structure with architectural reminiscences, with a lower plinth decorated with festoons and scrolls and an overhanging cornice above. Its front is divided into three compartments separated from each other by columns embellished with sinuous wavy lines. Presumably, each of the divisions would have housed a panel with a specific religious scene, in the form of a triptych, which would be completed with the rest of the scenes that would form part of the original altarpiece. The whole is subsumed by criteria of harmony, to a symmetrical order.
