Carved and gilded wood.
It has slight flaws and some losses of gilding.

Trumeau type mirror made of carved and gilded wood that presents a geometric decoration in the upper part of the frame. In the frame of the mirror, we find a gilded and carved ornamentation with grooves simulating shafts of pilasters on both sides and an upper relief of rococo inspiration.
The trumeau mirror originated in 18th century France, and owes its name to the place it was intended for, the space between two windows. This situation multiplied the light in the room, both by the reflections of the mirrored surface and by the gilded carvings that used to decorate the frames, which shone under the light. This type of mirror is usually rectangular, and usually includes an upper ornamental area, higher than the mirror surface.
