Asturian desk from Leon that is structured in three different modules conceived vertically. In the lower area, on two back legs and a running leg in the front area, there is an overhanging cornice that gives way to the lower area defined by two doors and two drawers in the upper area, whose design follows a strict symmetrical pattern. In the upper area, defined by another cornice, is the desk itself, with a hinged door that leads to an interior compartmentalized into small spaces, with three horizontal registers; the two lower ones with three drawers and the upper one with four. The desk has metal handles on the sides. Finally, another cornice establishes the upper area topped by a piece of furniture with two openwork doors with balusters, as well as the sides that follow this design that allows a view of the interior, a feature that was common in 17th century Castilian furniture.
As for the decoration, it is worth mentioning the delicate play of the marquetry that follows the models of the period with geometric and vegetal details as the main motifs of the ornamentation. Aesthetically, all the modules that make up the furniture have the same decorative line, although they vary from one another, highlighting the central area where you can see the coat of arms of the client.
