BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Empire style lamp. France, Napoleon III period, second half of the 19th century.
Gilded bronze and glass.
Measurements: 92 x 26 cm.
The lamp follows a typical Empire architectural structure of rounded volumes and sharp edges, with a base raised on four claw-shaped feet, a Corinthian column and a hemispherical lampshade in greyish-coloured glass. The latter is engraved with geometric fretwork, floral bands and simplified stars, and has two bronze mouldings in bas-relief, one running along the lower profile and the other crowning the piece.
