The Book of the Privileges of Admiral Christopher Columbus, also known as the Vergara Codex, is a careful facsimile edition published in 1992 by the Testimonio publishing house in Madrid. This work reproduces with great fidelity the original manuscript preserved in the General Archive of the Indies in Seville, which brings together the titles, rights and privileges granted to Christopher Columbus by the Catholic Monarchs, compiled personally by the Admiral himself. These documents offer a valuable testimony about his figure and the dimension of his political and symbolic legacy.

The facsimile is bound in dry-worked leather, with a gilt reproduction of Columbus' signature in the center of the cover. It consists of 38 folios on paper and 4 on parchment. The quality of reproduction allows the reader to experience an authentic sensation, as if he were holding in his hands an original more than five centuries old.

The edition is completed with a study volume by historian Ciriaco Pérez Bustamante, which includes a critical edition, notes and transcription of the text.

This edition is limited to 980 numbered copies for the whole world and is certified by the publisher, which makes it a bibliographic piece of great historical and collector's value.
