Moritz Ignaz Weber was a German physician and anatomist, professor of pathological and comparative anatomy at the University of Bonn. Although he published numerous anatomical works, Weber himself described the "Anatomical Atlas of the Human Body in Natural Size" as his main work, given its monumental scope. It is worth noting the quality of the plates it contains: some of the whole body and life-size. It was published between 1830 and 1832. A second edition was printed between 1835 and 1841. An English edition was published in 1831 and a French edition in 1834.

Weber studied medicine, especially human anatomy, at the University of Würzburg. In 1823 he received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Würzburg with the thesis De hydrocephalo. Weber published his first medical works as early as 1820, including observations on patients who died of heart disease in the Zeitschrift für psychische Aerzte, the treatise Ueber die Zwischenkieferknochen und die Entstehung des gespaltenen Gaumens (Wolfsrachens) in Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Zur Naturwissenschaft überhaupt and as an independent work Grundlinien der Osteologie des Menschen und der Hausthiere, together with Syndesmologie, etc. His Handbuch der vergleichenden Osteologie was published in 1824. At the University of Bonn, he was appointed associate professor of anatomy in 1825 and full professor of comparative and pathological anatomy in 1830. In Bonn he worked temporarily as assistant to Professor of Surgery Philipp Franz von Walther.

Another well-known and widely published work of his was Observatio anatomico-pathologica de corde univentriculari e quo unus tantum truncus-arteriosus surgit. Prolusio acad, which appeared in 1832, as well as the Complete Manual of the Anatomy of the Human Body (Zergliederungskunde und Kunst, initially intended for owners of the anatomical atlas), published in three volumes from 1839 to 1845. In 1853 the Manual Anatomical Atlas of the Human Body was published with the names of the individual parts inscribed or added, similar to maps, which Weber published following the example of the anatomist and physiologist Bernhard Siegfried Albinus.
