Mariano Pascual is an Argentine illustrator and visual artist whose work is distinguished by its vibrant, ironic and conceptual style. His academic training includes a Master's degree in Graphic Design from ELISAVA Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona, as well as a postgraduate degree in Packaging Design from BAU University Design Center, also in Barcelona, Spain.
After his studies, he began his professional career in graphic design studios and agencies in Barcelona. However, he soon experienced a sense of creative stagnation, which led him to rethink his professional approach. It was in this process of self-discovery that he found in illustration an authentic means of expression, allowing him to develop his own visual language and abandon the rigidity of conventional design. From then on, he went from being a disenchanted designer to an illustrator in constant exploration.
Today, his work spans a wide range of industries, collaborating with music labels, publishers, fashion brands, festivals and technology companies. He has worked on prominent projects such as the Hermès catalog for the spring/summer 2020 "Objects" collection, whose creative proposal allowed him to merge his style with the fashion universe. This collaboration led him to design window displays for Hermès in Hong Kong and Macau, marking a milestone in his career by seeing his illustrations materialized on a large scale. Another of his milestones is his solo exhibition in 2024 that took place at E03 gallery in Beijing. He has collaborated and been published in: It's Nice That, Booooooom, Computer Arts, Fubiz, Joia, Atelier des Jeunes, Staf Magazine, XOXO, The Mag, Artwort, Design Playground Italy , Phenomenon, NSSMag, Archive Collective, La Monda, Experimenta Magazine, Mous, MagazineSandia, Singular, etc.
His creative process is nourished by everyday life and observation of the environment. He finds inspiration in unexpected elements such as street songs, urban structures or the design of common objects, constantly exploring new ways of interpreting the everyday. His artistic approach combines irony with the recontextualization of objects, generating images that oscillate between the naive and the disturbing.
