"Angel surrealist" is a bronze sculpture that takes up the motif of the angel that permeated the works of Dalí in a variety of media and media. Its stylized bearing and the slight movement of the hips, as well as the cloth hanging from the waist, recall the Greek contrapostos, which is combined with dislocating aspects such as the usurpation of the head by a geometric figure and the hollowness in the chest that increases its androgynous appearance by depriving it of breasts. Caba linked this winged figure with Dalí's exploration of the Niké of Samothrace. Dalí saw angels as transcendentally pure creatures who served as communicators between the artist and God. Other religious connotations can be read in the triangular head, which represented for the artist the triad of his homes (Figueras, Pubol and Port Lligat), as well as the deep-rooted influence of the Holy Trinity. The mythical "surrealist angel" conveys a powerful allegory of inspiration, as the declaration of a creativity gifted from the heavens. The angel is also a muse, whose central void could reflect that of an invisible heart that conceals one's artistic passions.

Painter and sculptor, Salvador Dalí was one of the leading exponents of the surrealist movement. His work greatly influenced the course of surrealism during the twenties and thirties, being acclaimed as the creator of the paranoiac-critical method, an essential combination of the real with the imaginary. Most of his production is gathered in the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueras, followed by the collection of the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg (Florida), the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Salvador Dalí Gallery in Pacific Palisades (California), the Espace Dalí in Montmartre (Paris) or the Dalí Universe in London.
