Sargadelos pottery is made in the town of Cervo, Lugo, where Antonio Raimundo Ibáñez opened the first factory at the beginning of the 19th century, creating a local industry that is still alive today. Ibáñez created in 1806 a factory focused at first on the manufacture of fine chinaware for stamped tableware. After his death, he was succeeded in 1808 by the Portuguese Antonio Correa de Saa, who introduced changes in the factory that would consolidate the unique personality it maintains today: red and blue decorations with gold details.
