Painter and sculptor. He began his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts in his hometown, where he was a disciple of Gonzalez del Blanco and Asorey. From 1956 he lived in Madrid, where he attended drawing classes at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and worked as a sculptor, a lesser known but undoubtedly important facet of his art. He also worked in the workshop of the engraver Dimitri Papageorgius, where the exquisiteness of his technique, worthy of the Flemish masters of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, is evident. He has held exhibitions in numerous cities in Spain and Europe. He worked as a restorer in the cathedral of Freiburg. He has been awarded several prizes and is represented in the Museums of Galicia. Cauloga is, in appearance, a hyperrealist, although he is always capable of endowing his painting with a peculiar mystery of evanescence. He masters the technique admirably, and in his small format paintings there is that unmistakable mastery of what is well done, with sensitivity. The warm ranges are his favorite. He composes very well, because he is a magnificent draftsman. As a sculptor he shows that together with the meticulousness of his morphologies there is always a creative spirit that brings him close to Julio López and Antonio López García.
