Bronze bust made by the bronze artist Faure de Brousse. It represents an aristocratic young woman of somewhat melancholic expression wearing a sumptuous pleated blouse, adorned with lace. Her long braided hair is adorned with a headdress in the form of a diadem-like crown. The influence of Florentine Renaissance portraits is evident.

Vincent Désiré Faure de Broussé was a sculptor active especially at the end of the 19th century. He was a pupil of Jules Salmson (1823-1902) in Paris. Inspired by the arts of East Asia, as well as by the styles of the past, he participated both in the fashion of Japonisme and in the historicist movement that spread throughout the 19th century. He exhibited at the Paris Salons of 1876, 1877, 1878, 1881 and 1883.
