Bronze sculpture representing an owl. Of stylized invoice, it remembers for the essentiality of its forms the owls and other figures of animals of François Pompon.

François Pompon was a French sculptor. Born in Saulieu, a town near Dijon, at the age of 18 he moved to Paris where he worked as an assistant to Auguste Rodin. He is known for his animal sculptures, several of which are on display at the Musée d'Orsay, including the best known, Ours blanc. His style is characterized by the simplicity of his works.
