Sculptor, draftsman, imaginer, teacher, professor and academic, Inocencio Soriano studied at the Taller de Artes y oficios Artísticos, where he was a companion of artists such as Joan Miró. In 1933 he received a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. In 1935 he obtained a teaching position at the School of Arts and Crafts in Salamanca, where he was director. He moved to Barcelona in 1945 when he obtained the position of professor at the School of Arts and Artistic Trades of that city, and finally in 1951 he was awarded the Chair of Sculpture at the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of San Jorge. He was named Academician of San Fernando in 1970. Currently his work is preserved in private collections and sacred places such as the Church of the Ursulas of Salamanca or the Basilica of Santa Teresa de Alba de Tormes in Salamanca.
