BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

VITTORIO LIVI (Italy, 1944) for FIAM. Italy, 90's.
"Jb voyeur" folding screen.
Bombé glass and wood.
Measurements: 168,5 x 153 x 25 cm.

This screen or room divider consists of three warped leaves that together form an "S". Each of the sinuous panels has been made of a rough glass that allows us to intuit what lies beyond it, but, however, does not allow us to see clearly.

The Italian Vittorio Livi claims to be a true lover of glass. Throughout his insatiable career as a designer has been dedicated to producing glass objects, creating a string of specialized companies: from Fullet, Artiglass, Curvovetro to Cromoglass or Vellutart. It was in 1973 when he founded FIAM Italy, the first company capable of producing curved glass furniture that brought the Italian to the top of the international scene. The novelty of the material attracted the attention of important designers such as Giorgetto Giugiaro, Enzo Mari, Philippe Starck, Ron Arad, Cini Boeri, Vico Magistretti, Makio Hasuike, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, Daniel Libeskind, Oscar Dante Benini, who decided to take part in the project. In 1970 he settled in Norwolk, USA, bringing Italian design to the great American trade. Today Livi's works are housed in more than 25 international museums and Fiam Italia claims to be the absolute leader in its field.
