Peral has lived in Vigo since he was four years old. From 1972, he begins his painting studies by the hand of his teacher the painter San Luis. Then, he lives successively in Alicante, Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Vigo again -then dedicating himself there and then to the theater-, Alcoy (Alicante) and Venice. Nowadays -and definitively-, he lives and works in Vigo, as a Galician painter of Asturian origin. Four are the basic characteristics of Rufino Peral's painting: chromatism, geometrism, lyricism and vitalism. The critic Francisco Pablos speaks of his "exultant chromatism" - "hot, almost aggressive, whatever the genre he approaches"-, as well as of his "geometrism that insinuates itself or shows itself"; and he also thinks that "he oozes lyricism within his apparent almost scenographic dramaticism" or alludes to pictorial references that "want to live, progress, shout, get out of the painting: they are so vital". Since 1973 he began to exhibit in different locations in Spain, especially in Galician art galleries.
