Josep Aguilera Martí was a Catalan draftsman, portraitist and painter. He was recognized as the civil painter of Girona, republican and antifascist. In the academy of drawing and painting that he had in the Força street (Girona), he settled the cultural and human seed of a generation of artists who later played a leading role in the artistic scene of the post-war period. He was the man who marked the artistic rhythm of the city and who laid the foundations of a pictorial school based on the monumental Girona. He lived in Arbúcies between 1923 and 1927 where he painted two paintings that were awarded by the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi?
