Glazed and partially glazed porcelain.
They show slight losses and one of them has restoration on the base.
Two of the pieces have "Bindenschild" marks under glass and incised letters.
Measurements: 22,5 x 13 x 10 cm; 20 x 10,5 x 6,5 cm.
Sculptural group formed by three independent works all of them made in glazed and enameled porcelain. One of the sculptures presents a lady leaning on a tree, another one a young man and finally, the largest one, a couple accompanied by a small goat. All the works have the same aesthetic based on a bucolic and idealized conception of shepherds. The fact that the figures are shown in pairs, even those that represent the characters separately, but that are inevitably united by their postures and by identical elements such as the box of branches that both characters have, is a feature that shows us the popularity that the gallant theme reached. This type of scenes, of gallant and hedonistic theme, cheerful and colorful, worked with a precious and descriptive workmanship, were frequent within the context of historicism. They belong to the genre called "de casacones" in Spain, and "tableautin" in France, characterized by works inspired by an idealized past, often from the 17th and 18th centuries.
In terms of aesthetics it is clear that the manufacture is based in the Vienna area, as evidenced by the stylistic similarities of this set with works such as the British Museum (1931,1117.5.CR and 1931,1019.3.CR), or the MET (No. 1970.277.1).
